I was not happy with my wax model because the surface was too rough, and I couldn't get it smooth.
Last night in my ceramic building class, I asked the teacher, who does a lot of slip casting, how to smooth was models. He suggested flaming (ouch, too risky) or with lighter fluid and a nylon stocking.
I didn't have lighter fluid, but I do have a wax/gunk cleaner called "Goo Gone" that takes away wax, so I used that instead.
I'm happy to report that it works very well, and my wax models are now shined smooth and ready to be cast on Saturday.
