Off Mandrel Basics with Hearts & Implosions
Teacher – Coming from Florida - Brent Grabber aka Mr Smiley
We are offering this two day class twice while Brent is in town.
The first available date is Thursday May 29th and Friday May 30th.
The second available date is Saturday May 31st and Sunday June 1st.
Each of these are two day classes.
1st Class - May 29-30 - 9am to 5pm.
2nd Class - May 31-June 1 – 9am to 5pm

In this 16 hour class, we will be covering the off mandrel basics using borosilicate glass. Students will learn to use heat and gravity to shape their pieces. We will focus on how to read the heat base in the glass, so we are anticipating its movement and not just reacting to it. Encasing and layering of boro color to achieve bright beautiful results will be covered. We will learn hearts and several different implosions... along with other pendants and techniques as time allows. If you are interested in off mandrel boro pendants or getting beautiful results from boro color, this class is for you.
Cost: $350
$100 non-refundable deposit due
Prerequisite: Intro to beadmaking or intro to boro or torchworking for fusers or equivalent experience.
Minimum class size is 6 students.
