Per chance I came across this French maker of glass paints:

Debitus (http://www.debitus.com/usa/grisailles.html)

Color choices are VERY limited compared to Reusche, but I was curious if anyone knew about this company.

I am not personally familiar with this brand of paints, but I can see what they are getting at. They are formulated to simulate old colors.

I will assume that they chose formulas that are archival. I say this because I have seen colors that were made around the turn of the 20th century, that were made with fugitive fluxes. Acidic air was enough to make these colors dissolve and disappear.

Silver stain is the only chemical that can actually stain glass. For the best I have ever seen, find Cliff Oster's Ancient Walpole Silver Stain. It is made in Vermont.

The last category sounds like primitive oxide compounds that would color glass much like the laser toner decals that some people use. They do not have a flux mixed in with them.
