Patina stained painted pieces painted with glass stainers.

:frustrated:As the title says, I painted a piece with glass stainers and when I dried the piece after using black patina, I noticed a slight iridescent haze on all the painted sides and on the large piece it had a slight whitish haze. I'm almost to the point of giving up on patina with painted pieces. Is the Novacan stain remover worth trying?

Any suggestions?
